Red Hot Souldies - Chapter Two - Keep Your Hands Off My Ruca
Those blood-letting cuts took a while to heal; unfortunately, a few drops of the sticky red stuff fell on Mello's keyboard and that sure ain't good for a computer ! So our Chicago brother, a techno-freak, had to sit this session out. But true to familia form, into the breach stepped our Doo-Wop sibling Chi-Town to stretch his imagination beyond the Fifties to bring you some of his soulful favorites. What a strong familia we have - we even have a Chicago special teams subs bench ! Our gratitude to Chi-Town for ensuring that we're right on schedule for our 3-monthly outing of Red Hot Souldies ! Is it a coincidence that it's Christmas Eve ? "Ho, ho, ho !", of course not ! Santa's suit is blood-red too - don't you know he's one of the brothers ?!? All that remains is to wish you a Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year from all our krew. Enjoy the tunes - they're special ! RossyBoy

RossyBoy's Christmas Covers
It's that time of year ! You see, I needed space on the table to wrap the Christmas presents, but there were just so many covers versions littering the surface that I had to do something about them. The problem was easily solved - just parcel them up as a gift and send them out to the listeners with a shout of "Merry Christmas" ! But, a little warning, there's a lot of listening here so you will have plenty of backing tracks for your holiday season. There should be something for every taste and enough unusual ones that even the most hardened collector should find something new in his or her stocking ! Enjoy ! SantaBoy

THE FOUR MINTS gently down your stream
This Friday's treat exists thanks to Rob & Ken..They are better known the world over as the Numero Group here in Chi-Town, and do a fantastic job of getting rare & collectable tracks from master tapes to CD & vinyl.
Here is some info they have provided: In 1973, Columbus, Ohio's Capsoul label issued it's one & only LP before limping out of business one year later. Though it is twelve inches in diameter & spins at 33 RPM, "Gently Down Your Stream" is no more an album than "Meet The Supremes"; rather, it's a compilation of five singles & one brilliant song saved from the cutting room floor. It was the Four Mints' entire commercially released output.

FAMILIA SOULDIEZ VOLUME 11 - LOVE IS FOR FOOLS
Just in time to open the holiday season, the krew of Familia Souldiez have come together and share another set of awesome tracks.
What makes this series so unique is that the collaborators are from the four corners of this country and abroad with diverse musical tastes and a great thirst & knowledge when it comes to the genre of soul.
Familia Souldiez Volume 11 entitled "Love Is For Fools" takes soul through all of it's paces - Northern Soul, Sweet Soul, Funk & Group Harmony. As with previous volumes in this series, the krew has come up with a set of tunes worthy of any major release.
Many thanks go out to RossyBoy for passing me the baton and allowing me to head-up this project and to GMAN for providing the inspiration and the dynamite cover.
Special thanks to Mello, DustyRose, MzO, BillyMac, Chi-Town & BrownBoy for their contributions & taking the time out of their busy lives to make this happen.
Give it a spin & let us know what you think. No turkeys here. LOL!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

BillyMac & RossyBoy's A Bridge Too Far
It's been a few years too many since my Philly buddy BillyMac and I did one of these "BRIDGE" compilations together. This particular bridge is just about 2500 miles away from Billy, but close to my own heart and roots. It's the Forth Railway Bridge near Edinburgh, Scotland. In Victorian times when it was newly-built it was regarded as one of the Wonders of The Modern World ! Now it's your turn to wonder at BillyMac's great tune selection - an unparalleled collection of rarities and obscurities. I hope I've brought a few nice ones to the table too. Billy is a busy boy, so if you like what you hear let us know so that he can be persuaded to part with more pearls from his treasure chest ! RossyBoy

SOUL - Accent On The 70's Vol. 1
This is my start to a new series that will be at least five volumes. Rossy surely has captured a sense of the 70's on canvas for my cover & an excellent job at that my brother ! All tracks featured will have charted in the top one hundred according to the "Billboard" ratings. Most will be from the top of the charts & they will all be remastered versions & come from my crates. MELLO'S LOWRIDING CLASSICS
Q-VO !
Mello strikes again thanks to the "Firme" cover our man Rossy produced to represent my offering. You seem to always come through when needed & I love you for it chief !
And with the thought of MzO's sublime evening at the concert, I thought I'd kick this set off with a touch of "Smokey" to keep her feet off the ground....you go girl ! I've been a "Smokey"/Miracles fan since 1958 & my wife & I last saw his memorable performance back in July of 1984 here locally.

Although classics are used in the title, you'll find some rare ones included on this set if you're looking for vinyl versions.
Chicago to is also well represented with ten tracks being associated with my windy city. Regardless my friends, there should be a track or two that are new to most any listener. Please enjoy this presentation & don't forget to drop a comment, it helps a lot in the inspiration & motivational department if you have any interest in future volumes of this sort.

Familia Souldiez Vol 10 - Tricks Of The Trade
It's three months since our last outing of Familia Souldiez. Volume 9 yet again proved to be a winner with hundreds of downloads. But for some of our keen familia, three months waiting is just too long ! Let's hope you all feel the same ! Because we are gonna try to produce one of these bad boy volumes ONCE A MONTH from now on. A bit of a logistical nightmare, but hopefully our great family spirit can pull us through. The G MAN has come up with another masterful cover for "Tricks Of The Trade"; he will continue to be our regular cover artist. Regarding the theme, some of our brothers used their smarts to find titles with words from the theme in them; Guy, being a working man himself, concentrated on songs about trades or professions. But as the Wise Old Owl, Mello, pointed out, although the words "Trick" or "Trade" may not be in a song title or in the lyrics, a trick of the trade is also to come up with something new. So the rest of us just used this as an excuse to bring you some fine favorites or squirrelled-away rarities that we have been saving for just such an occasion as this. Let us know how we are doing with the series; it will help our motivation to keep producing the goods into the future. Enjoy the tunes ! RB
